PROSPECT — The Prospect Community Library, 357 Main St., will host its annual spring book sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 28 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 29.

[naviga:h2]Dairy Princess tea scheduled[/naviga:h2]

CHICORA — The Butler County Dairy Promotion Team will host the Dairy Princess Tea April 30 at the North Butler Presbyterian Church, 137 North Butler Church Road.

Girls ages 16 to 24 who plan to compete for the title of Butler County Dairy Princess must be connected to the dairy industry in some way and devoted to promoting the industry and dairy products.

BRADY TWP — Jennings Environmental Education Center, 2951 Prospect Road, will host a series of three age-specific programs for children this summer.

PENN TWP — April 28 is the deadline to register for the Penn-Glade Lions Club all-day scrapbooking fundraiser. The event will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 6 at the club house, 150 Church Road. Call 724-586-7660 to register.

[naviga:h2]Drug awareness focus of walk[/naviga:h2]

The Walk of Hope, an event to bring awareness to the growing drug epidemic, will be from 10 a.m. to noon May 6 and begin at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 420 N. Main St.

Free registration will begin at 9 a.m. Participants will walk from the church to the Butler County Courthouse.

There will be refreshments and a basket raffle. Donations will be accepted.

Hope for Broken Hearts, a family support group and an outreach of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, is sponsoring the walk. The group meets at 7 p.m. Tuesdays at Mount Chestnut Presbyterian, 727 W. Old 422. For more information, call Charlene at 724-991-2357.

[naviga:h2]Ensemble gives send-off concert[/naviga:h2]

The Butler Golden Tornado Percussion Ensemble will perform Thursday at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association State Conference in Erie.

The ensemble will perform a “send-off” concert at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Butler Intermediate High School.
