[naviga:h2]Two Rock athletes earn PSAC honors[/naviga:h2]

LOCK HAVEN — Slippery Rock University seniors Kennedy Evans and Nicole Siciliano both earned PSAC honors for the week ending April 8.

Evans, a Butler High graduate, was named the conference’s Women’s Outdoor Track Athlete of the Week.

She ran a time of 59.96 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles, placing first at the Western Pennsylvania Challenge meet, hosted by Indiana (Pa.) University.

The time is currently the fifth-best in all of NCAA Division II.

Siciliano, an outfielder for The Rock, was recognized as the Western Division’s Softball Athlete of the Week after totaling four hits, including a home run, and two RBI in a doubleheader sweep of California (Pa.).

[naviga:h2]Blue Jays place Donaldson on DL[/naviga:h2]

TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays have put slugging third baseman Josh Donaldson on the 10-day disabled list with a sore right calf.

Donaldson left Thursday’s loss to Baltimore in the sixth inning after hobbling into second base on an RBI double, the lone run in a 2-1 defeat. Toronto has lost six straight and is off to a franchise-worst 1-8 start.

“It’s very aggravating, very frustrating,” Donaldson said. “The important part is just making sure that whenever I do come back, it’s ready, and just go from there.”

Toronto selected Chris Coghlan from Triple-A Buffalo and designated catcher Juan Graterol for assignment.

Donaldson said Thursday’s mishap felt worse than the one that forced him to leave Sunday’s loss at Tampa Bay.

Donaldson, the 2015 AL MVP, is hitting .310 with two home runs and four RBIs in nine games.

[naviga:h2]DeLaet has share of lead at Heritage[/naviga:h2]

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. (AP) — Graham DeLaet eagled the par-4 ninth hole and shot a 4-under 67 on Friday for a share of the second-round lead with Luke Donald in the RBC Heritage.

Donald also had a 67 to match DeLaet at 10-under 132, two ahead of Ian Poulter and Webb Simpson.

DeLaet had always enjoyed playing Harbour Town Golf Links, Pete Dye’s sneaky little layout with its narrow fairways and smallish greens. But the Canadian had not posted the scores to match how good he feels when he’s here — until this week in going 65-67.
