Geyer elected to Commission for Community Colleges

Kim Geyer

HARRISBURG — A Butler County commissioner and trustee of Butler County Community College has been elected to the executive committee of the Pennsylvania Commission for Community Colleges.

Kim Geyer was elected as the executive board's secretary on April 3, at the commission's annual meeting in Harrisburg. The board is the governing body of the commission, and its members serve two-year terms that begin on July 1.

Geyer became a BC3 trustee in 2011 and has since moved to ex officio status on the college's board.

She was elected as a county commissioner in 2015. Geyer had previously served on the Mars Area School Board for 12 years, and on the board of directors for Midwestern Intermediate Unit 4. She is a graduate of BC3, where she earned an associate degree in liberal arts.

This is Geyer's second appointment to the commission, which includes college presidents, members of boards of trustees and college administrators.
