Peter Eugene Dausch

Peter Eugene Dausch of Butler gave up his long courageous fight with prostate cancer at 4:20 a.m. Monday.

“What a long strange trip it's been.”

Peter was born Feb. 19, 1947, to Mary Jane and Joseph Dausch, who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate, Dr. Patricia Fryer Arnet; his former wife and mother of his children, Diana Dausch; his daughter, Ursula Slater, and her husband, Ray Slater; his son, Dan Dausch, and his wife, MinhMei Dausch; his grandchildren, Jordyn and Parker Slater and Lucas and Benjamin Dausch; and his stepchildren, Jessica (Jason) Campagna; and his grandsons, Tiberius Campagna and Daniel Arnett. He also was beloved by Dan's girlfriend, Ashley Taylor, and sorta son, Shenghai Jiang. Also surviving are his siblings, Tom (Gjerda) Dausch, Gail (Bruce) Ehrenberger, Paul (Emily) Dausch and Francis (Bruce) Fisher; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and all the good friends and those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Michael, Sheila and Eugene Dausch.

Peter was a longtime business owner and legend in Butler. He was owner of Benjamin Beetle Clothiers since 1990 and former owner of Kirk's Menswear.

After graduating from North Catholic High School, he attended Point Park University until he was drafted by the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War in 1967. He then enlisted and achieved the rank of buck sergeant. While serving in Wildflecken, Germany, he survived a helicopter crash in which several soldiers lost their lives.

Peter then graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree in civil engineering in 1973.

DAUSCH — Visitation for Peter Eugene Dausch, who died Monday, March 6, 2017, will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday followed by a brief memorial service and celebration of Pete's incredible life at 8 p.m. at Benjamin Beetle Clothiers, 119 W.
