GLADE RUN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The youths of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will dye Easter eggs with the senior residents at St. Barnabas Sunday. They meet in the youth room for pizza after the 11 a.m. service and leave the church at 1:15 p.m.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will open Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Each family can receive one large bag of clothes.

Children interested in attending the 2018 youth gathering in Houston next year will meet after Sunday worship.

There will be a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. April 13.

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

MERIDIAN PRESBYTERIAN

Meridian Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., observes Holy Communion at the Maundy Thursday worship service at 7:30 p.m. April 13.

Members fill Easter eggs at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday for Saturday’s egg hunt.

NEW ZION EVANGELICAL

NORTH MAIN STREET CHRUCH OF GOD

North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., will have an Easter egg hunt from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Children ages 2 to 12 will make crafts, play games, hear the Easter story and have an egg hunt.

The Sunday worship service includes cardboard testimonies.

The Maundy Thursday service with Communion and reflection is at 7 p.m. April 13. Optional foot washing follows the service.

The annual women’s Good Friday breakfast is at 7 a.m. April 14. Purchase tickets at the church office.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Preparation for the soup supper starts at 9 a.m. Friday at Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars. Donations will be accepted Friday morning. Arrive at 3:45 p.m. Saturday to help with the supper.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

The Palm Sunday service at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury, includes Communion.

There will be a 7 p.m. Maundy Thursday service with Communion April 13.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will distribute palms Sunday.

Christ’s Last Supper and the final evening of his earthly life will be remembered with Communion at 7:30 p.m. Maundy Thursday, April 13.

The community Good Friday service will be at noon April 14 at Saint Andrews. Covenant, Hill, North and East Butler and Saint Andrews churches will provide worship leadership and music.

SAXONBURG MEMORIAL Presbyterian

Good Friday morning breakfast at Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church 100 W. Main St., Saxonburg, is at 6 a.m. in the fellowship hall for men, at 9:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall for women and at 11 a.m. at Centennial Hall of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church’s for youths.

Springdale Lutheran

Guest lay minister Bob Niggel will lead the Passion Sunday service with Holy Communion at Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury.

The Good Friday service with Holy Communion is at 7 p.m. April 14. Bob Niggel will lead the service.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, celebrates Palm Sunday during the worship service.

Weather permitting, there is a church grounds cleanup at 9 a.m. Saturday.

The parish Maundy Thursday service is at 7 p.m. April 13 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Prospect. The community Good Friday service is at 2 p.m. April 14 at St. John’s.

Easter lilies and Easter breakfast reservations are available.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

The PM sewing ministry of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, meets at 6:30 p.m. today and at 10 a.m. April 13.

The senior high youth group meets from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Parents’ night out is 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.

Palm Sunday will be celebrated with Holy Communion at the 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. worship services. There will be no 9:30 a.m. worship service on Palm Sunday or Easter. The Easter egg hunt is at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

The Maundy Thursday soup and bread meal is at 6 p.m. April 13 in Centennial Hall. The youth will lead the Maundy Thursday Communion worship at 7 p.m.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will have blessing of the palms at weekend services. The Saturday service will include Holy Communion.

The first Communion class meets from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and at 9 a.m. Sunday in the conference room. New members will be received at the 10:15 a.m. Sunday worship service.

Chrism Mass will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the sanctuary.

The prayer shawl group meets at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church lounge. The prayer and healing service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

SS PETER AND PAUL UKRAINIAN ORTHODOX

SS. Peter and PaulUkrainian Orthodox Church, 21 Evergreen St., Lyndora, will have Lazarus Saturday with 10 a.m. Divine Liturgy and 5 p.m. Great Vespers.

There will be blessing of palms and pussy willows at 9:45 a.m. Sunday followed by a Divine Liturgy at 10 a.m.

SUMMIT PRESBYRERIAN

Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, celebrates Palm Sunday this week.

The women’s fellowship group will resume meeting at 6:15 p.m. Mondays at the church.

The deacons will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and the session will meet at 7 p.m.

The Lenten worship service with healing is at noon Wednesday. Holden evening prayer service with healing is at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The Maundy Thursday service is at 7 p.m. April 13.

VALENCIA PREBYTERIAN

Valencia Presbyterian Church, 80 Sterrett St., Valencia, has a Maundy Thursday service at 7:30 p.m. April 13. Communion will be served.

ZION LUTHERAN

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, serves Holy Communion at Sunday worship service. Youth Sunday school and adult Bible study is at 11 a.m.
