The Masonic Shelter at Alameda Park, 184 Alameda Park Road, will be the meeting place to start the Flashlight Easter Egg Hunt Friday evening. Children ages 4 and younger will hunt at 6 p.m. Children ages 5 to 10 will hunt at 7:30 p.m.

The event will include clues to find the eggs, treats and other food, a craft and the visit of a furry friend. Take a flashlight.

Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will host an Easter egg hunt from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church.

Parents can register their child for free preschool this fall at the Butler County Children's Center, 139 Rieger Road. Registration will be April 11, 12 and 13.

To register, parents should take a certified birth certificate, insurance card and proof of income (W2, 1040, pay stubs, TANF printout, or SSI verification).

[naviga:h2]Library plans fine-free week[/naviga:h2]

ZELIENOPLE — To celebrate National Library Week, the Zelienople Public Library, 227 S. High St., will observe Fine-Free Week from Monday to April 15.

No overdue fees will be collected on items returned during this week. The library cannot erase old fines or forgive charges on lost or damaged materials.

Other National Library Week events include Free Copy Day at the copier April 13 and free DVD checkouts April 12 and 13.

There will be an adult coloring night at 6:30 p.m. Monday. The library's genealogy group will meet from 1:30 to 4 p.m. April 22.

[naviga:h2]Library hosts 'meet the authors'[/naviga:h2]

CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Public Library, 2525 Rochester Road, will host “Read Local” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 22.

It will be an opportunity to meet 20 local authors in all genres. Book copies will be available for sale at the authors' tables.
