The event included musical performances and art demonstrations. Paintings, photographs, sculptures, drawings and other pieces of art were displayed and sold in a silent auction. Emma Plank, 13, of Slippery Rock brought home six medals from the recent Eastern Zone Swim Championships in Webster, N.Y. A member of the Slippery Rock Eels, Plank placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle and broke the Eels’ team record with a time of 26.27 seconds. She placed eighth in the 100 freestyle and swam part of four Allegheny Mountain age 13-14 girls relays. The 400 medley took first place, the 200 medley second, 400 and 200 freestyle relays third. Eels teammate Natalie Carlantonio turned in personal-best times while finishing 15th in the 100 backstroke and 17th in the 200 freestyle.Submitted Photo
