Butler spikers rally for 3-2 win
Butler’s boys volleyball team rebounded from a two-games-to-none deficit to defeat visiting Shaler 3-2 Thursday night.
Nash Bryan had 21 kills for the Golden Tornado, who lost the first two games 16-25 and 20-25 before reeling off wins of 25-22, 25-18 and 15-13.
Tyler Rankin tallied 34 assists for Butler (3-0, 2-0), while Andrew Chwalik had six blocks and Dan Kline five digs.
Boys Tennis
Butler’s Matt McMaster and Elijah Errington won at No. 1 and 3 singles, respectively, as the Golden Tornado edged North Hills 3-2.
The No. 1 doubles team of Trevor Bell and Tyler Bell accounted for Butler’s other victory.

Karns City’s boys suffered a rare defeat on Wednesday.
Competing in a double-dual meet against A-C Valley and Redbank Valley, the Gremlins easily handled the Falcons 120-27, but fell to the Bulldogs 88-62.
Chandler Turner won the long jump and triple jump in both meets. A-C Valley’s Zach Austin did likewise in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs.
