BC3 trustees approve loan to renovate Children's Creative Learning Center
BUTLER TWP — Trustees at Butler County Community College on Wednesday approved the bank loan that will fund the state’s portion of a $2.2 million renovation to the school’s Children’s Creative Learning Center.
The loan, which is through Farmer’s National Bank, is for $1.1 million. It will be matched by $1.1 million raised through the BC3 Education Foundation.
The majority was donated to the college by John L. Wise III and his family, who gifted $1 million last year in memory of his sister, Amy Wise. John Wise is the vice president and treasurer of the Butler Eagle.
The renovation project, which BC3 President Nick Neupauer said will begin this summer, will expand the CCLC, which is a state- licensed preschool and child care center for the children of BC3 students, employees and community members.
It also serves as a resource for academic programs, including the college’s nursing, RN, early childhood education and pre-K-4 programs. The expansion will double the facility’s size.
