Butler Police3 p.m. Monday — Clinton W. Scott, 45, of Butler was allegedly caught with two stamp bags of suspected heroin in his pants that were discovered by a state constable after the constable arrested Scott on a summary warrant at a First Street residence.Butler police charged Scott with possession of a controlled substance.

Butler County Sheriff’s OfficeMonday — Shane A. Souders, 30, of Butler Township was charged with submitting a concealed carry license application March 1 that included answers about his criminal record that were not truthful and were rejected by the Pennsylvania Instant Check System that is run by the state police. Souders is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities.

State Police, Butler10 p.m. Wednesday — Justin P. Barger, 32, of Parker was arrested after allegedly assaulting a woman in Parker Township. The victim, 22-year old Destini L. Reges of Parker, also was cited.The altercation began in Reges’ vehicle, where she is accused of slapping Barger in the face. The dispute continued into a home in the 400 block of Annisville Road, where police say Barger punched Reges in the face and choked her several times.Barger and Reges both suffered minor injuries. Barger was placed in the Butler County Prison to await arraignment this morning on charges of simple assault and harassment. Police also charged Reges with harassment.9:08 a.m. Tuesday — One person was injured in a two-car wreck in Summit Township. The crash happened when cars driven by Jessica L. Parker, 30, of Fenelton and Jonathan F. Anthony, 28, of Butler collided at Route 68 and Route 38.Parker’s passenger, Robert C. Leech, 24, of Fenelton, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. His condition was not available this morning.Police cited Parker for making an improper left turn.Monday — George L. Miller III, 45, of Jefferson Township was charged with drunken driving stemming from a one-vehicle crash at Dinnerbell and Whitaker roads in Jefferson Township.Police said Miller smelled of alcohol and failed field sobriety tests. A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.153 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.In addition to driving under the influence, he is charged with failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.March 2 — Police charged Jessica L. Sporio, 35, of Pittsburgh with being more than double the legal limit for alcohol following a traffic stop last month in Buffalo Township.Sporio was stopped Feb. 19 after a trooper said he saw her car straddle the fog line several times on Route 28 just south of exit 17. She later turned onto Route 356 and subsequently completely crossed over the fog line, documents said.The suspect smelled of alcohol but she denied drinking. But she failed field sobriety tests and a portable breath test indicated the presence of alcohol in her system.Police took Sporio to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township, Armstrong County for a blood test. Toxicology results showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.165 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.She is charged with DUI, disregarding traffic lanes and careless driving.

State Police, MercerWednesday — Police reported they are investigating an assault last month at the George Junior Republic juvenile detention center in Pine Township. A 17-year-old Philadelphia boy is accused of assaulting a 32-year-old Zelienople man and a 48-year-old Grove City man.A police report did not indicate if the two men are employees at the facility, or if they were injured.
