Butler Police11:19 a.m. Tuesday — A 43-year-old man suffered an apparent heroin-related overdose at his home in the 700 block of East Brady Street. The 911 caller, a Butler woman, reported giving Eric L. Bartsch two doses of Narcan before emergency crews were dispatched.The woman told authorities that she did not see him use heroin but she noticed he had gone into the bathroom.When police got there, Butler Ambulance Service paramedics were tending to Bartsch on the living room floor. He was unconscious but breathing.He eventually came to as medics were about to administered another dose of Narcan. Bartsch, once revived, refused further medical treatment.Police said they seized two empty stamp bags of suspected heroin.Monday — Police charged Nathan R. Huber, 26, of East Butler with misdemeanor drug possession stemming from his arrest on an unrelated warrant last month at East Jefferson and Franklin streets.Officers about 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 initially pulled over Huber for the arrest warrant that was issued to state police Feb. 21 in a felony access device fraud case.The suspect was arrested and searched, which turned up two stamp bags and several empty bags of suspected heroin and five Suboxone strips that were in his wallet, according to court documents.Huber is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.7:30 p.m. Saturday — Trevor G. Walker, 27, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend, Stephanie Steiger, during a domestic dispute at his apartment in the 300 block of West North Street.Steiger told police that the defendant punched her several times in the face and mouth.He also strangled her by the throat, “causing her to feel as if she was going to pass out,” according to court documents.Police said the woman suffered swelling to her head, swelling and bleeding to the inside of her lip, fingerlike bruises on the side of her neck and pain to the left cheek.She eventually managed to get away from Walker and call for police. Police arrested Walker at his home.He was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

State Police, Butler12:20 p.m. Monday — Two people were hurt in a two-vehicle wreck at Route 8 and Boyers Road in Mercer Township.The crash happened when a cargo van driven by Maria R. Saunders, 27, of Pittsburgh pulled into the intersection and collided with a car driven by Matthew J. Thrasher, 21, of Grove City.Thrasher and his passenger, Jibrin Ahmed, 23, of Harrisville, suffered minor injuries. Ahmed was treated at Grove City Medical Center. Both men were wearing seat belts.Police cited Saunders for a flashing light violation.

State Police, New Castle4 p.m. Monday — The body of a 30-year-old local woman missing since Feb. 3 was found in a wooded area off Fox Road in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.Police said Courtney Adaire Stone of Slippery Rock Township was found by an unidentified man walking his dog in a field and wooded area near Fox Road.The death has been ruled accidental, according to a police report.Lawrence County Deputy Coroner James Farris pronounced Stone dead at the scene. Investigators said there were no signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.Stone was last seen Feb. 3 at a relative’s home in Slippery Rock Township. She left that house at 9:30 p.m. wearing light clothing and was reported to be in a “disoriented state.”An autopsy performed Monday revealed nothing suspicious, the report said. A cause of death is pending toxicology results that could take several weeks.
