Career evening set for March 21March 17 is the deadline to register for a career exploration event from 5 to 8 p.m. March 21 at St. Andrew Church hall, 1660 N. Main St. Ext.The program, for ages 12 to 17, will focus on career exploration and team building. Workshops will include social and interview skills. Dinner and door prizes will be included.Hosts for the evening will be 4-H, Connecting 2 Tomorrow Inc. and Stand Tall.To register, call 724-431-6025.

Safe Sitter training setThe Butler County Parks and Recreation Department will offer the Safe Sitter baby-sitter’s training from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 18 at the Slippery Rock Park Building, 320 N. Main St., Slippery Rock.The class is for youths ages 11 to 15 and will emphasize prevention, safety, responsibility, leadership and professionalism.Registration is required and class size will be limited. Costs will include books and materials. Successful students will receive a course certificate.To register or for more information, call the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department at 724-284-5383.Notices of upcoming news should be received by the Community Department one week in advance of the event.
