Butler mayor will seek re-election
Butler Mayor Tom Donaldson has announced he is running for re-election in the 2017 Butler mayoral election.
“I feel we’ve done a great job, made a lot of progress in the first three of the four years,” he said. “I’m looking forward to serving the public for another four years.”
Donaldson will run in the Republican primary. His initial victory was in 2013 against former mayor Maggie Stock, who was in office from 2006-13.
He said one of the key issues during his re-election will be to monetize the city’s parking assets.
“I think it will be a way to have a substantial influx of cash to put in a trust fund, so we can keep the city’s finances on an even keel in the long term,” he said.
The primary is May 16.
