Butler Police4:46 p.m. Thursday — Brandon W. Duffy, 23, of Butler was arrested for a probation violation but not before making things worse on himself.Police said they were called to the 200 block of North Main Street to help county probation officers nab the wanted suspect, who was spotted walking through a store parking lot. An officer traveling to the scene noticed Duffy on North Jackson Street.But when the suspect noticed the officer, he ran, according to court documents. The officer released one of the department’s K-9 officers. The police dog along with his officer handler chased after Duffy, who eventually stopped running and appeared to be ready to give up.Moments later, however, he again took off running, dashing through another parking lot and climbing a fence, just ahead of the police dog, documents said.He subsequently climbed back over the fence and ran across North Main Street. But in his would-be getaway, he ran past an officer in a parked police car in the 300 block of North Cedar Street, where he was finally caught.Duffy was arraigned on a felony charge of flight to avoid apprehension. He was placed in the Butler County Prison on $20,000 bail following the arraignment.10:43 p.m. Thursday — Bobbi Jo Pengryn, 46, of Butler was seriously injured in a suspected hit-and-run accident on Fifth Avenue. Police said she was walking when an unidentified vehicle struck her.Pengryn was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with severe head and leg injuries, according to a police report. Among her injuries was a broken leg. She was later transferred to an unidentified Pittsburgh hospital. Her condition was not known this morning.Police said they are investigating the hit-and-run but have no suspects.

Butler Twp PoliceTuesday — Police charged Paul R. Lodge, 26, of Butler with having suspected marijuana and drug contraband shortly after 3 p.m. Jan. 20 when they found him with a BB gun shooting targets in the yard of his mobile home in the 500 block of Fairground Hill Road.Officers were initially called to the home for a report of a man with a rifle standing outside a trailer.Lodge is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.5:05 p.m. Monday — Emily M. Steinke, 23, of Kittanning was arrested after she was caught allegedly shoplifting merchandise, valued at $365.86, at the Butler Commons’ Walmart.Steinke, who had at least two prior shoplifting convictions, was arraigned on a felony count of retail theft and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana. She was later released on her own recognizance.11:18 a.m. Monday — A car driven by Lisa Dapprich, 57, of Pittsburgh rear-ended another vehicle on Route 68 at Linsdale Drive. Shelly Weimer, 45, of Butler was the other driver.No one was injured but both vehicles had to be towed. Police cited Dapprich for careless driving.3 p.m. Jan. 25 — Two 13-year-old Butler boys landed in trouble with the law after they got into a fight at the Tanglewood Center in Lyndora. Both boys were cited for disorderly conduct.

Grove City Police8:41 p.m. Sunday — Four teenagers were arrested on charges they entered a fenced-in area at the Cooper Industrial Commons on Lincoln Avenue.Charged with trespass are David M. Allaman, 19, of Westminster, Md.; Gabriel P. Cirio, 19, of Springfield, Delaware County; and Johnathan P. Erickson, 19, and Ethan M. Weaver, 18, both of Emmaus, Lehigh County.
