Butler PoliceWednesday — Brittany D. Williams, 26, of Butler was charged with having drug contraband last month in the 300 block of North Washington Street.Police said they found Williams on Dec. 17 while investigating a reported stolen vehicle. She was searched, according to court documents, and found with a crack pipe hidden in a cigarette pack that was in her hooded sweat shirt.Additionally, police said, they found a syringe in her front pocket. Williams is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.Wednesday — Lisa L. Lopezramirez, 56, of Butler was arraigned on charges she tried to illegally buy a gun last year.Lopezramirez provided false information about her criminal record on Sept. 17 when she filled out her application to purchase a handgun at a gun show at the Pullman Square shopping center, according to court documents.She is charged with unlawfully attempting to buy a firearm, a felony, and unsworn falsification to authorities, a misdemeanor. She is free on her own recognizance.

Butler Twp Police1:20 a.m. Friday — Mark A. Sowa, 57, of Butler was arrested for drunken driving after his pickup truck traveled through and tore up a yard at a home on Meadow Avenue.Sowa was arraigned on charges of driving under the influence, driving with an open container of alcohol, damaging property by vehicle and driving with unsafe equipment. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.

State Police, ButlerWednesday — Police filed 13 charges against Michael A. Miller, 53, of Butler Township in connection with a Dec. 29 one-vehicle wreck in Oakland Township. Miller, who suffered unspecified injuries, crashed just before 5:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Chicora Road.Troopers said when they got to the scene they found the suspect with a bag of marijuana. He also appeared to be impaired on drugs. A medical helicopter eventually flew him to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.According to court documents, police by telephone Jan. 9 spoke to Miller, who admitted doing drugs and drinking before the crash.Toxicology reports subsequently showed he had cocaine and amphetamine in his system, documents said. His blood-alcohol level was 0.103 percent. A level of 0.08 percent is considered intoxicated under state law.Miller is charged with two counts each of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and DUI, driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol and possession of a small amount of marijuana, all misdemeanors.Additionally, he is charged with a list of traffic violations including driving without insurance, driving at an unsafe speed, careless driving, failing to keep right, disregarding traffic lanes, failing to stop and give information after an accident and driving without a seat belt.Wednesday — Joshua L. Miller, 23, of Slippery Rock was charged with DUI stemming from a traffic stop last month in Center Township. Police said they pulled over Miller shortly after 1 a.m. Dec. 4 on Route 8 at Brandon Road for speeding and crossing the fog line.Troopers suspected Miller was intoxicated and he subsequently failed field sobriety tests. A breath test showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.088 percent.In addition to DUI, Miller is charged with disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.Wednesday — Police charged Tori M. McCommon, 20, of Butler with being nearly nine times the state’s 0.02 percent legal limit for someone under age 21 when she crashed her car this month in Center Township.McCommon was “crying and upset” after the one-vehicle wreck on Unionville Road just east of Brown Road, according to court documents, but she apparently was not injured. She smelled of alcohol and admitted to drinking at a friend’s house earlier that night.She was arrested after failing field sobriety tests and was taken for a breath test, which showed her blood-alcohol level was 0.179 percent.McCommon is charged with driving under the influence, DUI by a minor and underage drinking, disregarding traffic lanes, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.
