New fire engine in Freeport
Freeport Fire Chief Jeff Weaver stands by the new fire engine at the fire station on Market Street. The volunteer fire department bought the $366,000 Spartan truck by tapping into a $500,000 donation from the late Miles Beale of South Buffalo Township. The new truck can hold twice the amount of water, 1,000 gallons, as the vehicle it replaced and a sharp radius turn to navigate the streets.
