The Pennsylvania Lottery is cautioning consumers to be aware of e-mails, phone calls and social media messages from scammers pretending to be a “claim agent or a “claim officer” representing the Pennsylvania Lottery.

The scam includes a phone number with a 281 area code and a gmail.com e-mail address. It reads: “We happily announce to you the draw of Pennsylvania Lottery program held this year 2017. You have won 1,00,000 in cash and prizes from Pennsylvania Lottery online draw 2017. Your e-mail Identity was one of the selected e-mails all over the world in the lottery draw ... You are to contact claims officer via e-mail below for claims procedures. Mr. Howard Boyer.”

Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko advises recipients not to reply to the message.
