CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will have one worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, New Year’s Day, led by the Rev. Hughie Orsborn.

The prayer shawl group will meet at 6:30 p.m. today.

The N.O.W. committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The quilters will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday.

The January food cupboard items are tuna and noodles.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will have a worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday, New Year’s Day. Brian Graff, Leanne Heaton and Beverly Antis will lead the service. It will include prayers, stories and music.

Offering envelopes for 2017 are available in the narthex. A 2017 flower chart is on the assembly room bulletin board.

FIRST BAPTIST

Sunday’s service schedule at First Baptist Church 221 W. New Castle St., will include Sunday school and a worship service. There will be no afternoon or evening services.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have one 10 a.m. worship service Sunday with Word and Sacrament. There will be no Sunday school.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The Sunday service at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will be a service of lessons and carols.

Church members will serve the community dinner Monday at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St. Participants should arrive at 4 p.m. for set up. Dinner will be at 5 p.m.

Butler Relay For Life will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the church.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

The church will celebrate the New Year at the Sunday service. Amber Crowe and Tabitha Snyder will provide music.

HARVEST COMMUNITY

Students in grades seven to 12 will ring in the New Year with CRAVE from 7 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday at Harvest Community Church in Petroleum Valley, 118 N. Fairview Main St., Petrolia. The event will feature giant inflatables, competitions, video games, food, music with special guest Red Letter Hymnal and more. For tickets, visit harvestpa.org. CRAVE student ministries will sponsor the celebration.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will have one worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday with the Rev. Terry Stoops officiating. There will be no Sunday school and youth group.

Women’s Bible study will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the board room.

The mission and outreach meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the board room.

MERIDIAN UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave., will observe Holy Communion during the worship service Sunday.

The Sarah Elizabeth Circle will not meet Jan. 5.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, has a sign-up sheet in the lobby for the Jan. 14 Lego tournament.

The year of the Bible begins this week. Reading plans are available in the lobby.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will start the New Year by celebrating the Lord’s Supper together during worship Sunday.

The 2017 flower calendar is in the narthex.

The Celebration of Winter luncheon will be after worship Jan. 8 in the memorial room.

The 10th Annual Chili Cook-Off will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Jan. 28. The event will include a basket auction, bake sale, entertainment, fellowship and chili. Proceeds will benefit Saint Andrews and Operation Spay/Neuter of Butler County. See Carol Landis for information.

ST. JOHN'S LUTHERAN

St. John’s Lutheran Church of Connoquenessing, 100 Main St., Connoquenessing, will celebrate Holy Communion during the Sunday worship service.

The January cause of the month will be Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels. A sign-up sheet for food items needed will be available.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., will celebrate New Year’s Sunday with Communion at the 8:15 and 10:45 a.m. worship services. There will be no 9:30 a.m. service or Sunday school this week.

The Elmcroft worship service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will have a New Year’s Eve service with Holy Communion at 6 p.m. Saturday.

There will be one worship service with Holy Communion at 10:15 a.m. Sunday.

The church and office will be closed Monday.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The church office at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will be closed Friday and Monday.

There will be one service at 10 a.m. Sunday.

Year-end ministry reports are due in the church office by 9 a.m. Tuesday.

The Christian education ministry will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The monthly women’s Bible study will be at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 5.
