WASHINGTON TWP — Bruin Road was partially shut down after a one vehicle wreck this morning.

State police say Kaitlyn Thornton, 19, of Bruin was westbound on Bruin Road at about 8:30 a.m. when her Dodge Caliber hit a patch of ice and went off the road, going airborne and hitting a fence and an embankment before rolling onto its side.

Firefighters had to cut the roof off the vehicle to extract Thornton, who was flown to Allegheny General Hospital with unspecified injuries.
