HARMONY — Registration is open for the New Year’s Day Polar Plunge at Harmony’s canoe launch at 100 Jackson St.

The festivities begin at noon with registration and check-in. The plunge begins at 1 p.m. Awards will be given for best costumes.

Register in advance at www.active.com or www.harmony-pa.us or applications can be picked up at the borough office.

Polar Plunge shirts and soup served to those who accept the chilly challenge. Those not wanting to take the plunge can sponsor a plunger.

Proceeds will benefit the Harmony parks and the Zelienople/Harmony Fire department.
