Butler District Judge William Fullerton is expanding the hours of his West Cunningham Street office next year.

On the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month, the office will stay open until 6:30 p.m. The other days will maintain the 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. schedule.

The new schedule begins Jan. 11.

Fullerton said the purpose is to give people who work during the day the opportunity to address citations or attend hearings. He said the later times also prevent students from having to miss school.

The office had kept later hours on a trial basis. Fullerton has now made the switch permanent.

Chicora District Judge Lewis Stoughton also has later hours on two Wednesdays a month while District Judge Kevin O’Donnell has later hours at his Butler Township office on the first and third Thursdays of each month.
