BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

The children of Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will put on their Christmas program during Sunday morning worship. Gordon Thompson will provide special music.

CABOT UNITED METHODIST

The musical “God is With Us” will be performed during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service at Cabot United Methodist Church, 707 Winfield Road, Cabot.

There will be a free community meal beginning at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the church gymnasium.

CHRIST COMMUNITY UNITED METHODIST

Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will host Christmas Outreach for the community from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Farmers Market on South Chestnut St. Santa will be there for pictures with children. Fleece blankets and warm hats will be given out, and children will make a Christmas craft. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served.

The First English Lutheran Church work team will meet at 4 p.m. Monday.

Wednesday is the deadline for newsletter items.

There will be three Christmas Eve services with a contemporary service at 5:30 p.m. and a traditional service at 7:30 p.m. Holy Communion will be observed at the 9:30 p.m. service.

The Christmas Day service will be informal and will begin at 10 a.m.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School. Communion will be observed Sunday. The ladies will have a potluck breakfast at 9 a.m. Saturday.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St., will receive the Christmas joy offering during the Sunday worship service. The offering distributes gifts to the assistance program of the board of pension and to Presbyterian-related schools and colleges.

Gina and David Loebell will light the fourth Advent candle Sunday.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will have a 7 p.m. Christmas Eve candlelight service and an 11 a.m. Christmas Day service.

Christian living classes will resume Jan. 22.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will have its annual meeting at 9:45 a.m. Sunday. There will be one worship service at 10 a.m. when the children will present the Christmas pageant “What Can I Give Him?” Fellowship time will follow the service.

GRACE@CALVARY LUTHERAN

Members of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will lead worship for the adult day program at 11 a.m. Monday and Tuesday at LIFE Butler County, 231 W. Diamond St. Participants should arrive by 10:40 a.m.

The church council will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Prepare the Way of the Lord during Advent will feature dinner at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday followed by Bible study at 6:30 p.m.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Beth Ackelson and MaryAnn Mahan will provide the special music during the Sunday worship service.

GraceWay will celebrate the fourth Sunday of Advent with an emphasis on love.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Children and youths of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will sing and present a Nativity tableau during worship Sunday. Children participating in the tableau should arrive at 9:45 a.m.

The needlework group will meet following Sunday worship.

Offering envelopes are available in the overflow room. Payment for 2016 chancel flowers are due.

Dec. 25 is the deadline for offerings to be included in the 2016 church financial statements.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will have a session meeting in the board room at 7 p.m. today.

The fourth Sunday of Advent will be recognized Sunday with the lighting of the love candle at both services.

The youth group Christmas parties will be at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Sunday.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

A caroling group from Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, will leave the church at 4:30 p.m. to sing to homebound and care facility residents.

The Presbyterian Giving calendar is available in the lobby and online at presbyteriangifts.org. The gifts help people in need.

The Christmas Eve service will be at 7:30 p.m. and include carols, Communion, a Christmas tale and a candlelighting ceremony.

The church will have a regular Sunday schedule on Christmas Day.

RIDER LUTHERAN CHURCH

Council members will be installed Sunday at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury. It will be the fourth Sunday of Advent and Communion will be served.

Bible study will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Sunday school classes of Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have a candlelight service at 7 p.m. Christmas Eve. Special music will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Christmas morning worship will be informal. It will include many carols and “The Christmas Story in Word, Symbol, and Song.” The Rev. Jim Swanson and Covenant United Presbyterian Church will participate.

There is a Toys for Tots box in the narthex for new unwrapped toys.

SPRINGDALE LUTHERAN

Springdale Lutheran Church, 1061 Mahood Road, West Sunbury, will have Christmas caroling at 4 p.m. Saturday. There will be a pizza party afterward.

The Rev. James Neal will be the guest pastor Sunday.

The Christmas Eve service will be at 7 p.m. and include special music by Sam Scott and Daryl Joswiak.

There will be no service on Christmas Day. This was approved by the council and congregation.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will celebrate Holy Communion Sunday.

“Twas the Light Before Christmas,” an interactive play, will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Centennial Hall. There will be a light dinner at 6:30 p.m. Take cookies to share.

Food bank participation will begin at 6 p.m. Monday.

The bell choirs will perform at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Oertel Hall of Concordia.

Sanctuary decorating will be at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Christmas Eve candlelight Communion worship services will be at 4, 8 and 10 p.m. Christmas Day Communion will be at 10:30 a.m.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL

St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will celebrate Holy Communion at all services Saturday and Sunday.

The confirmation class will meet at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.

The youth Christmas party will be at 6 p.m. Sunday.

ST. PAUL ROMAN CATHOLIC

St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., will have a penance service from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

The deadline to order poinsettias for Christmas at Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, is 9 a.m. Friday.

The Sunday school Christmas program will be during the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

There will be a Mutual Ministry meeting after the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

The church council will meet at 7 p.m. Monday.

A Longest Night Service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a light supper at 6 p.m.
