A GoFundMe page has been started for Butler native Meg Alexander’s fiance, Brett Greenhill, who was paralyzed during a celebration on a beach in Naples, Fla., on Dec. 3.

An accident during a swim in the gulf off the beach paralyzed Greenhill, 39, who was pulled ashore by members of Alexander’s bridal party, according to the GoFundMe page.

Greenhill was conscious but immobile. He benefitted from a quick response by a medical team and was able to undergo surgery. He has paralysis but, according to the GoFundMe page, the results are not definitive.

The page was set up on Dec. 6 for Greenhill’s medical bills, and has raised over $90,000 in one week.

Greenhill and Alexander currently reside in Atlanta, Ga.
