Butler Township Police12:02 a.m. Thursday — Elizabeth Kordich, 23, of Lyndora was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Fairground Hill Road.A 2002 Chevrolet Blazer was found rolled over and crashed into a tree. The driver, later identified as Kordich, had left the scene.She had failed to notify police of the crash. Kordich suffered a minor injury but refused treatment. She said she swerved to miss a deer. The investigation continues.
State Police, Butler2:35 a.m. Friday — Cody Allen Byers, 24, of Sarver was charged with simple assault, terroristic threats and harassment.Byers was under the influence of alcohol at a bachelor party hosted by Joshua Swaney. According to documents, he urinated on Swaney’s basement floor twice. Swaney confronted Byers, who allegedly squeezed Swaney’s neck and told him he was going to kill him.1:35 a.m. Thursday — David Thomas Kearns, 48, of Pittsburgh was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and in possession of drugs.Kearns was stopped for a speeding violation in the 500 block of Pittsburgh Road in Penn Township.Monday — An unknown thief stole a wallet from a car in the driveway of a home on Green Manor Drive in Jefferson Township. The wallet, owned by a 54-year-old woman, was taken between 6 and 6:30 a.m.Sunday — A tree stand ladder belonging to a 57-year-old Cabot man was stolen from a wooded area near the 400 block of Leasureville Road in Winfield Township. There are no suspects.1:20 a.m. Dec. 1 — Brittany L. Gould, 25, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of DUI in the 100 block of Euclid Road in Clay Township.Nov. 29 — Police charged Alyshia M. Shaffer, 27, and Marc A. Blodgett, 30, both of Butler in connection with a theft case last month in Slippery Rock Township.Shaffer on Nov. 6 allegedly stole a wallet containing $500 from a vehicle at a home on Cemetery Road where she and Blodgett, her boyfriend, had recently been staying, according to court documents.Police later interviewed Shaffer, who they say admitted taking the wallet. She claimed it was Blodgett’s idea and that he distracted the victim while she took the keys to get into the vehicle. Shaffer returned the wallet, minus the money, to the victim, documents said.Shaffer is charged with theft from a vehicle. Blodgett is charged with conspiracy to commit theft, driving with suspended license and driving a vehicle without valid inspection.Nov. 13 — Unspecified property was stolen from a vehicle parked at West Old Route 422 and Country Club Road in Franklin Township. The theft happened between 8:30 a.m. Nov. 8 and 1:50 p.m. Nov. 13. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
State Police, Kittanning1:05 a.m. Wednesday — A 22-year-old Pittsburgh man, who police did not identify, was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 28 north about one mile south of exit 18 in South Buffalo Township.12:30 p.m. Nov. 30 — Gaberial D. Beck, 19, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted a 30-year-old woman during a domestic dispute at their home on Pleasant View Drive in East Franklin Township. He was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Armstrong County Jail on $5,000 bail.
State Police, Mercer5:31 p.m. Wednesday — An Ohio man stopped for driving a vehicle with an expired registration on Interstate 79 in Springfield Township has been charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, along with several driving violations. Police said the charges followed their search of the vehicle driven by Joseph T. Wilson, 22, of Youngstown.6:22 p.m. Monday — Two youths wanted in connection with an earlier vandalism-related incident in Butler County were arrested following a traffic stop on Interstate 80 in Findley Township, Mercer County.Troopers said they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle, which was searched. A small amount of suspected marijuana was found, police said.The suspects, who police did not identify, were later released to the custody of their parents. Unspecified charges are pending.
State Police, New Castle4:48 p.m. Tuesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Ayrionna A. Walden, 23, of Butler was rear-ended by a car on Route 422 in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County.The other driver, Trinity N. Pennachio, 21, of New Castle, was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
