BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68, will have special music Sunday by the Rev. Millie Martsolf and the choir.

Christ Community UNITED METHODIST

The red church offering at Sunday services of Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, will benefit VOICe. The Christmas program will be at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Baked items for Meals on Wheels should arrive at the church Sunday or Monday.

The Covenant Presbyterian Church food cupboard work team will meet at 8:45 a.m. Monday, and the First English Lutheran Church dinner team will meet at 4 p.m.

Blankets and monetary donations for the Dec. 18 outreach are being accepted now. For more information, contact Cherie Loomis.

CHRIST OUTREACH

Christ Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave., will host the ACTS choir and orchestra at the Sunday morning worship service.

Following the service, those with reservations will gather in the gym for a catered dinner. Take a salad or dessert to complete the meal.

The board of directors will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

COMMUNITY LIFE

Community Life Church holds service at McQuistion Elementary School.

Visit the Victim Outreach Intervention Center (VOICe) table before or after the Sunday service to find out how to sponsor Hope this Christmas. Sunday is the deadline for unwrapped donations.

COVENANT PRESBYTERIAN

FIRST BAPTIST

First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will join with other area churches in presenting the Christmas cantata, “Darkness into Light” at 7 p.m. Friday at First Baptist and at 7 p.m. Saturday at Middletown Baptist Church in Pittsburgh. Admission is free.

Sunday’s service schedule will include a noon luncheon and a 1 p.m. children’s Christmas program.

FIRST BAPTIST OF EVANS CITY

The Foundations Men’s Ministry of First Baptist Church of Evans City, 242 S. Washington St., Evans City, will meet at 7 a.m. Saturday at the church.

The Senior Sisters will have their annual Christmas party at 7 p.m. Saturday at the church.

The last Christian living classes for the session will be Sunday.

The children’s ministry BLAST will go caroling at St. John’s Specialty Care Center in Mars Wednesday.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

Nominations for church council should be submitted to the church office at First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., or to any current council member.

The 2017 offering boxes are available in the church social hall. The 2017 flower chart is posted on the bulletin board in the social hall.

FORESTVILLE UNITED METHODIST

Forestville United Methodist Church, 124 Boyers Road, Forestville, will present the cantata “Bethlehem Morning” at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 18.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

The fellowship and service committee of Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St., will meet at 10 a.m. Friday in the ladies’ lounge.

Grace’s Closet, a free clothing bank, will be open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. The closet’s last opening before Christmas will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Dec. 15.

Council members for 2017 will be installed during the Sunday worship service.

The finance committee will meet at 6:30 p.m., and the worship and music committee will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

GRACEWAY

GraceWay meets at the Center Township Elementary School on Mercer Road.

Debbie Horstman, Mark Schoenfeld and Michelle Huff will provide special music during the Sunday worship service.

Sunday is the last day to return Christmas stockings for cancer patients and toys for the children’s giving tree. The last day to order poinsettias for the Christmas Eve service is also Sunday.

HILL UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

The Memorial Handbell Choir of Hill United Presbyterian Church, 501 Second St., will ring at the Sunday worship service.

Community lunches will be packed at 9:15 a.m. Sunday in the fellowship hall.

The annual church dinner and a ring and sing program will be at 6 p.m. Sunday.

Participants in the Christmas Nativity will rehearse from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Deliver Head Start holiday gifts to the deacons’ room by Wednesday.

MARS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Mars United Presbyterian Church, 232 Crowe Ave., Mars, will have a stewardship meeting at 7:15 p.m. today.

The living Nativity will be presented to the community from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

The children’s Christmas program will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday. There will be a luncheon afterward.

GriefShare will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the red room.

OLD UNION PRESBYTERIAN

Old Union Presbyterian Church, 200 Union Church Road, Mars, is accepting new, unwrapped donations for the Lighthouse Christmas Toy Shop.

The youth group will help the Evans City Food Cupboard prepare for holiday food distribution Dec. 17. The youths also will go ice skating in the afternoon. To participate, call 724-538-8672.

“The Thrill of Hope,” a choir cantata, will be part of the Dec. 18 worship service. The church Christmas party will follow the service and include a potluck meal and gift exchange.

SAINT ANDREWS UNITED PRESBYTERIAN

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have its Christmas cookie walk from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday in the Bethany Room. There also will be an alternative gift fair for gifts that benefit those in need. The deadline for poinsettia orders is Monday.

Dinner with friends will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 17 at Serventi’s, 475 Airport Road, Penn Township. For reservations, call Susan Moon.

SAXONBURG MEMORIAL

Saxonburg Memorial Presbyterian Church, 100 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will present the Christmas musical, “Rejoice!” at 7 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

ST. JOHN’S UNITED METHODIST

The children’s handbell choir will perform during the Sunday service at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 244 Hallston Road, Slippery Rock.

ST. LUKE'S LUTHERAN

St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, 310 W. Main St., Saxonburg, will have lunch, Christmas caroling and cookie deliveries beginning at noon Sunday.

Grief and Beyond will meet at 7 p.m. Monday. The council also will meet at 7 p.m. Monday.

The “Comfort at Christmas” service will be at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

The bell choir will play at 6:15 p.m. Tuesday at Saxony Center, 223 Pittsburgh St., Saxonburg.

St. Luke’s Stars will have a catered Christmas lunch at noon Wednesday.

ST. MARK'S EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN

The confirmation class of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Jefferson St., will go Christmas caroling at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The Christmas party and program will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in Schramm Hall.

The prayer shawl group will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church lounge.

SUMMIT PRESBYTERIAN

Sunday worship at Summit Presbyterian Church, 181 Caldwell Drive, will include Advent readings. Small group studies and church officer training will follow the service.

The Tuesday women’s Bible study will be at 10 a.m. during December and be followed by an Advent luncheon at noon in the fellowship hall. There also will be caroling and a brief devotional.

The deacons will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, and session will meet at 7 p.m.

TRINITY LUTHERAN

Trinity Lutheran Church, 120 Sunset Drive, Center Township, will have blood-pressure checks after the Saturday service and between the Sunday services.

The gifts for the Trinity Northside and Butler County children are due at the church by 10 a.m. Sunday.

Out to Lunch will be after the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Villa Grande, 183 New Castle Road.

The stewardship ministry will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Advent light supper will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service.

ZION LUTHERAN

Zion Lutheran Church, 266 Zion Church Road, Chicora, will have a neighborhood potluck dinner at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Chicken, bread and beverages will be provided. Take a dish to share. Out of the Blue will play at 5:30 p.m.
