Butler Police3:15 p.m. Monday — Someone reportedly broke into a vehicle in the 500 block of North Monroe Street. It was not immediately known if any property was taken.Nov. 16 — An arrest warrant was issued for Surenu E. Frank, 31, no known address, on charges she violated another woman’s protection from abuse order at a home on Negley Avenue.Frank is accused of showing up about 9:20 a.m. Nov. 15 at the house occupied by Gloria Mastrocesare, who has the PFA against the defendant. Mastrocesare ran to a neighbor’s house to call 911. Frank fled and was last seen running north on Chestnut Street.Frank is charged with defiant trespass.
Butler Township Police12:43 p.m. Monday — A 55-year-old man, who police did not identify, suffered an apparent drug overdose at his home on Bartley Avenue.Police said the 911 call came in as a medical emergency at the house. The unknown caller fled the house before officers or a medical crew got there.Authorities found the man laying on the floor with a hypodermic needle and a drug cooking spoon nearby, police said. A Butler Ambulance Service crew tended to the man before he was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for further treatment.Police said the case remains under investigation, and no decision has been made on whether the man would be charged.Nov. 15 — A student at Butler Senior High School was charged with selling another student two Xanax pills. The medication is commonly used to treat anxiety disorders.Police did not identify the suspect, a 17-year-old boy, who is charged in Butler County juvenile court with felony and misdemeanor drug possession charges.A different 17-year-old boy, who police did not identify, was found under the influence of drugs in connection with the same investigation. He is charged with public intoxication.
State Police, ButlerTuesday — Kurt J. Kiesewetter, 50, of Clay Township was arrested after he was found with a stamp bag of suspected heroin while being booked into the Butler County Prison on a warrant.Prison staff found the bag in Kiesewetter’s wallet, according to court documents.He was arraigned on a felony charge of possession of contraband by an inmate and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a controlled substance.Monday — Police charged Nathan A. Cornell, 27, of Chicora with shoplifting a DeWalt took kit, valued at $500, on Nov. 8 from the Rural King store at the Clearview Mall in Center Township. Cornell is charged with misdemeanor counts of retail theft and receiving stolen property.
