First accumulating snow forecastPITTSBURGH — Parts of Pennsylvania could see some snow on the ground over the weekend.A strong cold front will lower temperatures and the National Weather Service says the first accumulating snow of the season could fall over Western Pennsylvania.Forecasters also say a small accumulation of snow could occur late Saturday night and Sunday night into Monday morning mainly over higher terrain in the Poconos.It’s also expected to be windy throughout the weekend.

Man who lied about his ID sentencedHARRISBURG — A 24-year-old Ukrainian man who faked his name and age to attend John Harris High School has been ordered to spend two months in prison for federal fraud charges.On Thursday, U.S. Middle District Senior Judge Sylvia Rambo sentenced Artur Samarin to less than the three-month jail term prosecutors suggested. He pleaded guilty to passport fraud and Social Security fraud in August.However, he faces deportation during a second sentencing next week for his separate fraud and sex crime charges.He has admitted to lying about his identity to get a free public education, and to having sex with a 15-year-old girl.Samarin also overstayed a visa.

Unappetizing hamburger postedDUBOIS, Pa. — A picture of an unappetizing school cafeteria hamburger posted on Facebook has drawn a reaction from the Pennsylvania school district where it was served.A student at DuBois Area High School posted the picture on Monday.School district Superintendent Luke Lansberry says the cafeteria workers are required to cook burgers to at least 155 degrees but were cooking burgers to 170 degrees.He says the burger depicted is the only one of 300 served that drew a complaint and wishes the student would have just returned it for a new one.
