Mars hockey loses to Mt. LebanonNoah Raymundo scored a pair of goals, but the Mars hockey team continued to struggle in a 4-2 loss to Mount Lebanon Monday night.The Planets (1-5) were outshot 43-21 in the loss.Tyler Spreng did have 39 saves for Mars, and William Scurci assisted the first Raymundo goal.

KC boys soccer honored by UAVSLKARNS CITY — Karns City's boys soccer team placed four players on the first team Upper Allegheny Valley Soccer League's Southern Division.Spenser Myers earned his third MVP award and fourth all-star selection. He scored a school-record 64 goals this year and a record 164 for his career.Forward Noah Pollock, with 34 goals and 28 assists, earned his third all-star selection. He is KC's career assist leader with 79. Forward Jace Ebbitt (single-season record 32 assists) and defender Noah Riley are second time all-stars. Defender Noah Claypoole made honorable mention.

King III named Athlete of WeekSLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock University quarterback Don King III has been named PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Week.King set SRU single-game records of 527 yards passing and seven touchdown tosses in Saturday's season-ending 57-15 win over East Stroudsburg. The 527 yards marked the fourth most by any player in the country in a game this season.

Hinderliter named freshman of weekSLIPPERY ROCK — Brooke Hinderliter, a freshman guard on the Slippery Rock University women's basketball team, was named Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Freshman of the Week.Hinderliter, a Redbank Valley graduate, averaged 13 points, four rebounds and 1.5 assists in two wins over the weekend.She scored 18 points in her debut, the most points scored by an SRU freshman playing in her first game in the last nine years.

BC3 basketball drops 2 gamesButler graduate Julia Baxter scored 29 points and added 14 rebounds, but the Butler County Community College women’s basketball team fell to Penn State Fayette, 73-48, Monday night.Christina Davis added 13 points for the Pioneers (2-2).In men’s basketball, Garret McHenry and Branden Record each scored 21 points, but the BC3 men dropped a 92-79 decision to Penn State Fayette.Chris Pipkens added 11 for the Pioneers (0-4).
