ADAMS TWP — The public works employees and the supervisors have approved a contract.

Supervisors Chairman Donald Aiken said at Monday night’s township meeting that the seven road crew workers represented by the Teamsters Local 538 ratified a contract before the meeting.

The supervisors voted unanimously to approve the contract on Monday night.

Aiken said the two sides have been negotiating for one year. He said all seven workers will receive raises each year of the contract in varying amounts.

The contract is retroactive to July and expires on June 30, 2019.

Also on Monday night, the supervisors accepted the resignation of longtime planning commission member Dan Bogdanich.

Aiken said Bogdanich had served the township for about 20 years, first as the assistant code enforcement officer in the 1990s.

Supervisor Tom Franceschina, who also serves on the planning commission, said Bogdanich also performed various maintenance tasks in years past as needed by the township.

He said Bogdanich was seated on the planning commission for more than 15 years.

Aiken said the position would be advertised, and volunteers can submit an application to take Bogdanich’s place on the planning commission.

Franceschina said Bogdanich will be missed on the first Wednesday of each month when the planning commission meets at the township building.

“He was very dedicated in all that he did,” Franceschina said.
