A Butler woman is accused of fraudulently obtaining $1,428 in federal food stamps last year.

The Pennsylvania Inspector General’s office on Tuesday charged Jessica McCloskey, 36, with a second-degree misdemeanor count of illegally receiving Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits.

Investigators saidMcCloskey, in applying for and collecting public benefits between Aug. 1 and Nov. 30, 2015, failed to disclose she also was employed and receiving wages.

Her preliminary hearing is set for Dec. 12 at the office of District Judge William Fullerton in Butler.
