Unseated State Rep. closes his officesELLWOOD CITY — State Rep. Jaret Gibbons, D-10th, who was unseated Tuesday night by Republican challenger Aaron Bernstine, announced Thursday that his offices will close permanently starting today.In a brief press release Gibbons said that all documents and PennDOT paperwork currently being processed by the offices will be mailed directly to individuals’ homes.He also pointed constituents looking for assistance with a state-related matter toward “their local state senator.”Depending on where in the 10th District you live, that could be Sen. Elder Vogel, R-47th (for constituents in Beaver and Lawrence counties) or Sen. Scott Hutchinson, R-21st (for constituents in Butler County.Gibbons has offices in Slippery Rock, Ellwood City, and New Brighton.

Child seat safety check slatedCENTER TWP — State police will conduct a child seat safety check from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 19 at the Unionville Volunteer Fire Company at 102 Mahood Road. Walk-ins are welcome.
