7 p.m. Wednesday — An unknown white woman stole a bag, which contained medical items, that was left unattended at the Masonic pavilion at Alameda Park.

The suspect, who is believed to be in her 20s and possibly goes by the name Jasmine, left the park driving a white, four-door Ford with the partial Pennsylvania license plate HJT.

According to a police report, an unknown male relative of the suspect was also at the park and left in a black Nissan four-door truck with the partial Pennsylvania license plate EGS.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.

11:01 p.m. Sunday — No one was hurt when two vehicles collided at Freedom and Powell roads. A police report was not immediately available and the names of the drivers were not known.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Butler[/naviga:h3]

7:30 p.m. Sunday — A 36-year-old Sarver man was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car crashed into a utility pole in the 600 block of Saxonburg Road in Jefferson Township.

The man, who police did not identify, had a “strong odor” of alcohol on his breath when a trooper found him, according to a police report.

Sunday — A 16-year-old girl was reported as a runaway after she left her house in Jefferson Township through a bedroom window.

The girl, a student at Knoch Senior High School, had been grounded when she left between midnight and 12:30 a.m. Sunday. The child’s father, after trying to find her, contacted police at 5:30 p.m.

Police noted that the girl has run away from home in the past but eventually returns on her own. Authorities entered her name and personal information in the National Crime Information Center.

Investigators this morning said they were checking with the girl’s school to see if she turned up there.

11:14 a.m. Sunday — An unidentified motorist suffered an apparent minor injury when a car struck a deer on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. The Harmony Fire District assisted at the scene.

A police report was not immediately available and the driver’s name was not known.

Saturday — A 44-year-old woman died at a Pittsburgh hospital after suffering an apparent heroin overdose in East Franklin Township.

Authorities found Jennifer Ann Martz of Cowansville about 11:30 p.m. Friday unresponsive at a home in 600 block of East Brady Road. Police said they found suspected heroin in the bathroom.

A medical crew administered the drug Narcan but with no effect. Martz was rushed to nearby ACMH Hospital in the township and later flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian, where she was pronounced dead about 11 a.m. Saturday.

Anyone with information about the suspected overdose is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.

[naviga:h3]State Police, Mercer[/naviga:h3]

4:49 p.m. Saturday — A teenager was hurt when he apparently fell asleep while driving a car and crashed on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township, Mercer County. The car struck an embankment and rolled over two times.

Sean K. Harris, 19, of Erie, suffered a minor injury. He was wearing a seat belt. Police cited him for careless driving.

5 p.m. Friday — Unknown suspects injured a man during a suspected assault at Millburn and Old Mercer roads in Springfield Township. The alleged victim suffered minor injuries.

Oct. 31 — Shawn M. Garland, 36, of Grove City was arrested for violating a woman’s protection from abuse order after he allegedly called her on the telephone at a store at Premium Outlets in Springfield Township.

Garland was arraigned on a charge of indirect criminal contempt, and later released on $25,000 unsecured bail.

Oct. 26 — Thomas W. Lehnerd Jr., 54, of Transfer was charged with failing to properly register as a sex offender while living at a home in the 800 block of Franklin Road in Jackson Township, Mercer County.

Lehnerd is changed with failing to provide accurate registration information as required under the state’s version of Megan’s Law. The charge is a felony in Pennsylvania.
