Roger L. Barnett
Roger L. Barnett, 81, of Butler passed away Wednesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born May 30, 1935, in Butler, the son of the late William Dudley and Marion Watt Barnett.
Roger was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard of Pennsylvania and the U.S. Army Reserves as a staff sergeant of the 228th Transportation Battalion. He had been self-employed as a truck driver. He was a member of the NRA.
Roger belonged to St. John's Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and a co-coordinator of the Operation Christmas Child Shoe Box Program in Butler. Roger was a giving man who enjoyed helping others.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Charlene R. Rockhill Barnett of Butler; five sons and their wives, William E. and Victoria A. Barnett of Stamford, Neb., Richard D. and Carisa M. Barnett of Butler, Thomas R. and Sherri L. Barnett of Butler, Dale R. and Sarah G. Barnett of Butler and John C. Barnett of Butler; his daughter, Karen R. Barnett Campbell of Butler; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Sharon (Al) Tokarchik of Round Rock, Texas; and his brother, Daniel (Susan) Barnett of Carlisle, Pa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, William D. Barnett and Robert E. Barnett.
BARNETT — A memorial service for Roger L. Barnett, who died Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2016, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Reformed Church, 494 Evans City Road, Butler, with the Rev.
