George E. Isovitsch Sr.

George E. Isovitsch Sr.

George E. Isovitsch Sr., 90, formerly of Butler passed away Sunday at Quality Care in Lebanon, Tenn.

Born April 13, 1926, in Butler, he was a son of the late Emerick R. Isovitsch and Anna Petch Isovitsch.

George was retired from the Armco Steel plant in Butler following 39 years. He also was a founder and partner of Isovitsch Brothers Excavating in Butler and had owned and operated his own farm and meat processing business for 30 years.

While living in Butler, he was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, the A.A.R.P., Armco Veterans Club, Butler County Fraternal Order of Police and V.F.W. Post 249. He was also a past commander of American Legion Post 778 and a past president of the Highfield Community Center. He enjoyed carpentry, hunting, fishing, camping and traveling.

A veteran of World War II, George served in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Helen L. Isovitsch; his children, George (Bonnie) E. Isovitsch Jr. and Diane (Danny) M. Knapf; his grandchildren, Rachel (Don) Richards, Rebekah Aust, Diana Krapf, Denton Krapf and Daniel H. Krapf Jr.; and his great-grandchild, Olivia Stewart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven sisters and six brothers.

ISOVITSCH — Friends of George E. Isovitsch Sr., who died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler.
