2 women injured in 1-car crash Friday along Route 8

Two Beaver County women were injured Friday morning in a one-car crash along Route 8 in Penn Township.

PENN TWP — A car wrecked Friday morning off Pittsburgh Road (Route 8) across from Dinnerbell Road, injuring two Beaver County women.

Middlesex Police Officer-in-Charge Randy Ruediger said the northbound car veered to the left, hit a business sign for Gerald Giel Garage Doors and traveled sideways through shrubbery before stopping in the adjacent yard. The crash was reported at 9:39 a.m.

Debris from the Chevrolet Cruze was strewn in the lawn of a house for rent at 698 Pittsburgh Road.

Ruediger said the driver, Linda Ogden, 62, of Beaver Falls was found between the two front seats with her head in the back seat and her feet in the front.

Ogden was taken by Butler Ambulance to Pittsburgh-Butler Regional Airport for a medical helicopter to fly her to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was last reported in serious condition.

Ruediger said there were indications Ogden sustained a head injury.

“She was conscious,” he said. “They were talking to her in the ambulance.”

Ruediger said Ogden might have experienced a medical issue that caused her to lose control of the car. He said the cause has not been determined.

“It’s still early in the investigation,” he said.

Her passenger, Jennifer Brown, 35, of Rochester was taken by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital.

Brown was later transferred to an unspecified UPMC facility. Her condition was unavailable.

Ruediger said the women were headed to the Butler County courthouse.
