JEFFERSON TWP — The South Butler School Board approved hiring a principal for the South Butler Primary School, replacing Dave Keibler.

Greg Mandalas, the principal at Karns City’s Sugarcreek Elementary School, was approved unanimously by the board during the Wednesday meeting, but his start date has not been decided yet, according to assistant superintendent Richard Cavett.

Keibler will serve his last day at the primary school Nov. 18, leaving to be an elementary principal in the Leechburg School District.

Mandalas thanked the board for the new opportunity, saying he has served for 20 years in the Karns City School District.
