BUTLER TWP — A two-vehicle accident happened around 4 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Whitestown Road and Acre Avenue.

Jason Cherry, 36, of Butler Township said he was coming around a bend on Whitestown Road when he saw a Volkswagen Golf stopped in front of him.

Cherry slammed on his brakes but couldn’t avoid his Hyundai Elantra rear-ending the Golf.

The man driving the Golf, whose name was not available, suffered injuries, according to Butler Township firefighter Adam Rozic.

Rozic said the man got out of his vehicle on his own and was transported by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for injuries.

“(It was) nothing life-threatening in my eyes,” Rozic said.

Cherry and a three-year-old girl who was a passenger in the Elantra were not injured. The Golf sustained back-end damage, while the Elantra sustained front-end damage.

Both vehicles were towed. Whitestown Road was limited to one lane for about 30 minutes while responders waited for the tow truck to arrive.

Butler Township police also responded.
