School bus crashes in early morningMIDDLESEX TWP — No injuries were reported in a school bus crash this morning in the 400 block of West Cruikshank Road, authorities said.There were 12 elementary school students on the A.J. Myers and Sons bus about 8:20 a.m. when the driver struck a ditch while traveling in a construction zone, according to a Mars School District official.Middlesex Township police were called but they were not available for comment. Volunteer firefighters from Middlesex and Penn townships and an ambulance crew from Quality EMS assisted police.School officials also showed up to talk with the driver and students, in keeping with district protocol following an accident.Parents were notified of the incident.Another bus took the students to the school.

Pregnant woman injured on Rt. 308CLAY TWP — A Butler County woman was injured after a vehicle accident early Saturday morning on Route 308, according to West Sunbury Fire Department personnel.The woman, who is in her 20s, was heading north on Route 308 when she lost control of her vehicle, which left the road and struck a utility pole before coming to a stop in a woods.The woman, who was pregnant, had stomach pain and discomfort and was transported by Butler Ambulance Service to a hospital in Pittsburgh, said Chief Reid Campbell of the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department.Butler State Police responded to the scene but did not have a report available this morning.

Man transported to hospital after crashCHERRY TWP — A man was injured late Friday night when his vehicle hit a tree along West Sunbury Road near Moniteau High School, according to the West Sunbury Fire Department.The man, who is in his early 30s and is from West Sunbury, lost control of his vehicle about 11:15 p.m.The man was found unconscious behind the wheel and was flown by a STAT MedEvac helicopter to UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh for his injuries, said Chief Reid Campbell of the West Sunbury Volunteer Fire Department.In addition to West Sunbury Fire Department, Marion Township Fire Department, Butler State Police and Butler Ambulance responded to the accident.
