Elizabeth “Betty” F. Pinkerton, 102, of Butler passed away Thursday at Concordia at Cabot.

She was born March 16, 1914, on the family farm in Middlesex Township, the daughter of the late Henry and Ethel Turner Flick.

Betty had been a member of the Senior Woman’s Club of Butler and the Friends of the Butler Public Library.

Betty was a graduate of South Hills High School and Point Park Business College. She retired from U.S. Steel after 28 years of service as an executive secretary. Her secret to a long life was to live a good life.

Surviving are her son, A. Dale (Millie) Pinkerton of Butler; her daughter, Nancy (Daniel) Soref of Los Angeles; four granddaughters, Celeste Quatse, Andrea Quatse, Lori Foust and Lisa Goldman; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and her cousin, Jeannette Kingler of Santa Barbara, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her grandson, Evon Quatse; and three brothers, Dale, Paul and Wayne Flick.

PINKERTON — Friends of Elizabeth “Betty” F. Pinkerton, who died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Eric Park, pastor of the First United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Middlesex Methodist Cemetery in Saxonburg.

Memorial contributions in honor of Betty may be made to the Butler Public Library, 218 N. McKean St., Butler, PA 16001.
