Edith L. Maier McCormick

Edith L. Maier McCormick, 77, of Evans City passed away Saturday morning at the Paramount Senior Living at Cranberry.

Born Oct. 10, 1938, in Pine Township, she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Norma Crusan Maier.

She was a member of the Westminister United Presbyterian Church, Evans City, where she had taught Sunday school for 13 years. She also served as a deacon of the church.

Edith was instrumental in starting the preschool at Westminister.

She was an enthusiastic fan of NASCAR.

Edith enjoyed gardening and watching birds. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren for each of whom she made an afghan.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; two sisters; and one daughter, Debbie McCormick.

Surviving are her husband, Ronald L. McCormick, who she married June 20, 1958; three daughters, Lois Mausteller of Indiana, Kathleen (John) Senn and Nancy (Richard) Frishkorn, both of Evans City; one son, Ronald (Diane) McCormick of Portersville; two sisters, Jean McMillen of Evans City and Gail (David) Howe of Mars; two brothers, Howard (Muriel) Maier of Warrendale and Arthur (Elaine) Maier of Indiana; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

MCCORMICK — Friends and relatives of Edith L. Maier McCormick, who died on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev.
