Graduates

Grant Foley

Ensign Grant Tad Foley of Meridian graduated cum laude with a bachelor's degree in marine transportation from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.

He received a commission as an ensign in the U.S. Navy and a third mate unlimited tonnage commercial shipping license.

Foley was a four-year varsity baseball letterman and made the Landmark Conference All-Academic list three years in a row. He also received the school's Scholar Athlete Award.

He is a 2011 graduate of Shady Side Academy.

Foley will attend the U.S. Navy flight school in Pensacola, Fla.

He is the son of Jeffrey and Kathleen Sommariva Foley of Butler.

Kelsey J. Kobil of Pittsburgh received a juris doctor degree, summa cum laude, from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. She ranked number one in her class with a 3.88 QPA.She was the executive comments editor of the “Penn State Law Review.” Her article “When it Comes to Standing, Two Legs are Better than Four” also was published in the journal.She is a member of the Woolsack Honor Society and received the Harry E. Kalodner Memorial Award.Kobil graduated from Butler High School in 2009. She received a bachelor's degree in psychology from Grove City College in 2013.She is an associate attorney at Cohen and Grigsby in Pittsburgh.Kobil is the daughter of Dr. Stephanie and Karl Kobil of Butler.
