Aviary hosts benefit auction, art show

The work of Pittsburgh photographer Dave DiCello, including “Panorama of the Youghiogheny River at Ohiopyle,” above, will be featured at the Wings & Wildlife Art Show in November at the National Aviary.

PITTSBURGH — The Wings & Wildlife Art Show will grace the National Aviary with a benefit auction Nov. 4 and an art show Nov. 5 and 6.

Featured will be the photography of Dave DiCello and a jury-selected array of nature-inspired work by more than 30 artists.

DiCello, best known for his unique perspectives photographing the city of Pittsburgh, also brings his creative eye to natural landscapes and animal photography. For Wings & Wildlife, he will unveil a new series featuring the Rocky Mountains.

Tickets for the auction from 6 to 10 p.m. Nov. 4 are $100 and available by calling 412-258-9441.The art show will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 5 and 6 and is included in the cost of general admission, which is $14 for adults and $13 for senior citizens and children 2 to 12.For more information, visit aviary.org.

MORE NATURE — The Butler Art Center extended its annual Nature and Wildlife show through Friday at the gallery at 344 S. Main St. The Best of Show award went to Mark Anderson for his “Autumn Grouse,” right. Art Center hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
