BC3 volleyball remains unbeatenTITUSVILLE — The Butler County Community College women's volleyball team improved to 7-0 overall Wednesday with a 25-12, 25-10, 25-16 win at Pitt-Titusville.Mary Romano had seven kills, Brittney Bianco 26 assists, Belle Chiodo eight digs and Cassie Berteotti seven service aces.The Pioneers travel to Anne Arundel CC at 11 a.m. Saturday.

SV Hall of Fame inducting sevenJACKSON TWP — The Seneca Valley Sports Hall of Fame will induct seven people next weekend. They include:Tom Fletcher (Class of 2001), Rick Ley (1981), Shawn Cully (2001), Mary (Miller) Lococo (1979), Alyson Intihar (2007), Emily Wolfarth (2008) and Coach Dan Sample.The weekend event will begin on Friday with a reception in the Seneca Valley Senior High School cafeteria, beginning at 5:45 p.m. It will be followed by all seven inductees being recognized on the field prior to SV's football game against Central Catholic.Saturday will be devoted to the Hall of Fame banquet and induction ceremony, which will begin at 5:45 and 7 p.m., respectively, in the high school.Banquet reservations are $20 each, $10 for children ages 6-12. Children 5-and-under will be admitted for free.Reservations are available through the SV Hall of Fame Committee by contacting Mr. Wayne Roccia at wroccia@zoominternet.net or by going to http://www.svsd.net/domain/1894 and clicking on the Hall of Fame link under “Athletics and Activities”.Deadline for banquet reservations is Sunday.There is no fee for attending only the induction ceremony.

Forte, Fitzpatrick lead Jets’ winORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — Matt Forte scored three touchdown runs and Ryan Fitzpatrick finally solved Rex Ryan’s defense, leading the New York Jets to a 37-31 victory over the Buffalo Bills.Forte’s 3-yard run put New York ahead 27-24 with 2:12 left in the third quarter. He sealed the win by patiently waiting for a seam to open before scampering into the end zone from 12 yards to put New York up 37-24 with 4:02 left in the fourth quarter.Forte finished with 100 yards rushing, and the offseason free-agent addition became the 13th New York player to score three rushing touchdowns in a game.

Padres GM gets 30-day suspensionBOSTON — Major League Baseball suspended Padres general manager A.J. Preller for 30 days without pay, hitting the San Diego executive with an unprecedented punishment for failing to disclose medical information when pitcher Drew Pomeranz was traded to the Boston Red Sox in July.The commissioner’s office announced the discipline without elaborating on what Preller did wrong.
