SV grad Jennings joins Drexel staffPHILADELPHIA — Seneca Valley graduate Justin Jennings has been hired as an assistant men's basketball coach at Drexel University.Jennings had spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach at Army under Zach Spiker. The Black Knights finished 19-14 last season. Spiker moved on to Drexel as head coach and is bringing Jennings with him.Jennings had spent three years as head coach for the U.S. Military Academy Prep basketball team, compiling a 77-18 record. He has also been an assistant coach at alma mater Penn State Behrend and Carnegie Mellon.

USHL Classic at Lemieux ComplexCRANBERRY TWP — The UPMC Lemieux Complex will host the 2016 United States Hockey League East Fall Classic Thursday through Saturday.USHL franchises Bloomington, Muskegon, Chicago, Madison, Green Bay, Dubuque, Cedar Rapids and Youngstown will be participating, along with Team USA and Red Bull Salzburg.Games take place at 2 p.m., 4 p.m., 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday.A day pass costs $10, a pass for the entire event costs $20.

Gymnasts’ doctor accused of abuseEAST LANSING, Mich. — A doctor accused of sexual abuse by two gymnasts — including a former U.S. Olympian — was investigated by Michigan State University authorities in 2014 over a another allegation of misconduct, but the school found no violation of its policy.Local prosecutors did not file charges two years ago following an investigation by MSU police.The revelation of a complaint by the Michigan State graduate comes after two gymnasts, including a member of the 2000 U.S. women’s Olympic team, said they were sexually abused as teenagers by Larry Nassar, a former longtime doctor for USA Gymnastics.

Vin Scully’s career ending Oct. 2NEW YORK — Vin Scully says the last ballgame he will broadcast is the Los Angeles Dodgers’ regular-season finale — regardless of whether they reach the playoffs.The 88-year-old announcer tells the Los Angeles Times his Hall of Fame career will end Oct. 2 in San Francisco. Scully had already said this will be his final season in the booth after 67 years, but until Tuesday had not announced whether he planned to call any potential postseason games on radio.
