Wind, lightening cause problems overnight

A rainstorm Thursday night caused a number of incidents around Butler County.

A fallen tree trapped a woman in her vehicle on Chicora Road in Fairview Township Thursday night. The Chicora Volunteer Fire Department, which was dispatched at 11:13 p.m., extricated the woman, whose name was unavailable. There was no medical transport. Crews cleared the scene at 12:19 a.m.

A lightning strike caused a dryer vent to catch fire earlier in the night at 102 Jenelle Lane in Summit Township. The Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched at 7:07 p.m. and cleared the scene at 8:10 p.m.

An apparent electrical issue caused the sign to catch fire outside the Golf Etc. store on North Main Street Ext. in Butler Township. After being dispatched at 10:15 p.m., the Mercer Road Volunteer Fire Company cleared at 11:25 p.m.
