Lois J. Davis

Lois J. Davis, 91, of Portersville passed away Sunday at the Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Sept. 1, 1924, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Emma (Woesner) Crider.

Lois was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, where she belonged to the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church (WELCA) and the Altar Guild.

She worked alongside her husband as a custodian at the Zion Lutheran Church. Lois retired from the Reformed Presbyterian Nursing Home on the North Side.

She was an avid reader and a member of the Prospect Library Reading Group.

She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, John C. (Diane) Davis III of Texas, Timothy S. (Marsha) Davis of Portersville and Barry W. (Helen) Davis of Virginia; her grandchildren, Lori Derby of Kansas, Michael Davis of Portersville and Jody Davis of Pittsburgh; and her great-grandchildren, Riley, Claire, Easton, Charlotte and Lydia.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John C. Davis, who passed away Jan. 24, 1998; her two brothers; and one sister.

DAVIS — The family of Lois J. Davis, who died Sunday, July 17, 2016, will welcome friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony.She will be laid to rest at the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.Memorial donations may be made in Lois' honor to the Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at www.boylanfuneralservices.com.
