Dutilh United Methodist Church, 1270 Dutilh Road, Cranberry Township and 525 Pittsburgh St., Mars, will have an outdoor community service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at the Cranberry Township Park amphitheater. The service will include a blessing for returning school students and teachers and a Blessing of the Backpacks, followed by a picnic and concert.

Saint Andrews United Presbyterian Church, 201 E. Jefferson St., will have a Blessing of the Backpacks during worship Aug. 28. Students and teachers will take their backpacks and book bags to receive a special blessing and gift.
The Tenth Annual Community Day of Prayer will be Sept. 10. The sanctuary will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for prayer. Church members also will pray for half-hour periods and can sign up in the narthex or contact Susan Moon.
