Butler Twp Police12:42 a.m. Monday — William S. Robinson Jr., 25, of Butler was arrested after causing a disturbance at the Butler Memorial Hospital emergency room. Police cited Robinson for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.10:32 p.m. Sunday — Justin L. Tincha, 30, was arrested after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute at his home in Lyndora. Tincha was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment, and placed in the Butler County Prison.9:22 p.m. Saturday — Derrick D Cotten, 21, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana and other contraband following a traffic stop on New Castle Road. Police charged Cotton with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.2:50 p.m. Saturday — A 16-year-old Renfrew girl lost control of her car on rain-covered Route 422 east, striking a guardrail and cement divider. Police cited the girl, who they did not identify, for driving at an unsafe speed and driving a vehicle with worn tires.Friday — Steven S. Defelice Jr., 31, of Lyndora was charged with shoplifting four packages of Legos from the Walmart at Butler Commons in June.Police said Defelice was spotted taking the merchandise valued at $109. But when store security tried to stop him, he took off running and eluded capture. Police said surveillance video helped identify the suspect.Defelice, who was previously barred from the store, is charged with retail theft and trespass.12:35 p.m. Aug. 5 — One person was hurt when a sport utility vehicle driven by Donna Sholes, 74, of Butler rear-ended another vehicle that was stopped at New Castle Road and Route 68. The other driver, David Devore, 47, of Butler was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.Police cited Sholes for driving at an unsafe speed.
Grove City Police2:22 p.m. Friday — Richard L. Palmer, 83, of Grove City was arrested for driving under the influence outside his home on Carrie Way. Police found Palmer impaired after being called for a report of a man who had fallen down at a parking area in the 1400 block of Carrie Way.Witnesses confirmed that the suspect had driven there and he was “manifestly under the influence of alcohol,” according to a police report.
State Police, Butler4:56 p.m. Sunday — An upstate New Yorker lost control of his vehicle and rear-ended a car on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. Police cited Andrew Nesci, 22, of Hilton, N.Y., for driving at an unsafe speed.The collision forced the other car driven by Cory A. Sherman, 30, of Oil City, Venango County, into a guardrail. In addition, a minivan driven by David K. Cooper, 48, of Grove City was struck by an unknown piece of debris during the wreck.
State Police, ClarionMonday — Police reported that they are investigating a possible wiretap violation involving a 15-year-old Chicora girl suspected of recording a telephone conversation with a 22-year-old Clarion man without his permission.Police said the investigation is ongoing.2:15 p.m. Aug. 9 — Four people were hurt when a van driven by Angela M. Whitmer, 42, of Rimersburg rear-ended a sport utility vehicle on Route 68 at Kissinger Mills Road in Madison Township.Following the crash, the SUV, driven by Brett A. Trithart, 20, of Rimersburg, ran off the road and traveled through a homeowner’s yard, hitting a landscape feature.Whitmer and her passenger, Betty Fenstermaker, 93, of Sligo, both suffered apparent minor injuries. Trithart and his passenger, Raiane N. Chains, 17, of Rimersburg, both suffered unknown injuries. The four occupants were all wearing seat belts and all were taken to Clarion Hospital.Police cited Whitmer for careless driving.
