Buffalo Twp Police6:45 p.m. Sunday — Timothy A. Gifford, 48, of Buffalo Township was arrested after he allegedly threatened a police officer at his family’s home on Scenic View Drive.Police had gone there for a call that Gifford was drunk and threatening his stepfather. Freeport police also assisted in the call.The officers also learned that Gifford was wanted on a warrant out of Mercer County.While being arrested, Gifford told officers that he had “56 confirmed kills and that he has a .50-caliber Desert Eagle pistol downstairs and then stated he knows how to use it,” a police affidavit said.As he was being arrested, Gifford told the officer he would see him soon.Gifford was arraigned on charges of terroristic threats and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.
Butler County DetectivesTuesday — Kayla R. Bedell, 26, of Butler was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after she was caught July 27 with two crack pipes and copper scrubber in Butler. Authorities stopped Bedell on Kaufman Drive near Zeigler Avenue where she was walking with another woman wanted on a bench warrant.
State Police, Butler3:36 p.m. Thursday — Joshua E. Eck, 32, who is homeless, was arrested after he allegedly assaulted his stepfather and mother during a domestic dispute at the victims’ home on Spring Valley Road in Connoquenessing Township.Eck is accused of clashing with James D. Todd, his stepfather, after Todd told him to leave the house. The two men began to wrestle during which Todd suffered minor head, elbow and knee injuries.When Eck’s mother, Tammy Eck, tried to break up the fight, she, too, suffered a minor arm injury.The suspect left the house but police later found him nearby in a tent, where he has recently been staying.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned him on two counts each of simple assault and harassment. He was placed in the Butler County Prison following arraignment.Monday — A .22-caliber rifle was stolen in a burglary at a home on Aljuron Lane in Prospect. The rifle, a Savage Mark II model, was taken between July 25 and Monday.Aug. 3 — Terry Lee Stivason, 56, of Butler was arraigned on charges that he attacked another man with a metal pipe during a case of suspected road rage last month at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.Stivason was driving a pickup truck July 23 when he got into an altercation with another motorist, Jordan Ruby. During an argument, Stivason reached into his truck and got a pipe or piece of rebar object.When Ruby turned away, according to court documents, Stivason struck the victim across the back and shoulder with the metal object. Ruby suffered bruising on his back, left shoulder and arm in the alleged attack.Police subsequently arrested Stivason, who denied hitting Ruby.Stivason was arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, simple assault and harassment. He was released on his own recognizance following arraignment.
State Police, Kittanning6:55 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Linda K. Lasala, 55, of East Brady collided with a pickup truck on Wattersonville Road in Washington Township, Armstrong County. Police cited her for driving at an unsafe speed. Jason M. Lauffer, 38, of Baden, Beaver County, was the other driver.Sunday — Someone vandalized a Donald Trump campaign sign belonging to a Templeton resident. The sign, which was on Route 28/66, was spray painted between 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.11:34 a.m. Aug. 2 — A pickup truck driven by Lawrence C. Goodman, 57, of Worthington struck a galvanized steel vent pipe at the Sunoco parking lot on Route 422 in Worthington. He did not stop after the crash. Police cited him for failing to stop and give information or render aid after an accident.
