Butler Police5:35 a.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Clair Gustafson, 30, hit a curb and traveled another 40 feet along Sixth Avenue before stopping. The driver told police he swerved to avoid a black cat with a green collar that walked out in front of him.
Butler Township Police4 p.m. Wednesday — Tim Kerr, 46, of Butler was arrested for simple assault after he allegedly grabbed a 68-year-old victim, causing substantial bruising, at 903 E. Jefferson St.4:34 p.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Michael Hutt, 37, of Butler struck the rear of a vehicle driven by Shawn Schuller, 26, on North Main Street while it was stopped to turn left onto Belmont Road. Hutt was cited for driving at an unsafe speed.
State Police, Butler3 a.m. Thursday — Police are searching for two males who robbed two Slippery Rock men at gunpoint at Brady Hills Estates in Brady Township. The suspects are described as black, between 18 and 20 years old, between 6 feet and 6 feet, 4 inches tall, and wearing dark pants and black hooded sweatshirts. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.1:41 a.m. Thursday — Someone broke into the vending and shampoo/vacuum machines at Suds King Car Wash on Freeport Road in Summit Township and stole an estimated $60. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.2:13 p.m. July 8 — An unknown woman made off with $100 while changing hand money with a cashier at the Eat N’ Park off Route 8 in Center Township. The woman is described as white, about 5 feet, 5 inches tall, with blonde hair and weighing between 130 and 140 pounds. She fled the scene in a small tan or light blue sedan parked in the lot across the road. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police at 724-284-8100.
